This whole process can take as little as 15 to 25 min, this depends entirely on your preference. Jerk Shrimp is a very tasty dish for all seafood lovers. For additional heat, feel free to add more or less Uncle Goodie’s Scotch Bonnet Pepper Powder then get ready to dig into this tasty treat.
Things needed
- 5 lbs Raw Tiger Shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 1 bottle of Uncle Goodies’ BBQ Jerk Sauce
- 1 tsp Uncle Goodies Scotch Bonnet Pepper Powder (Optional for additional heat)
- 3 tablespoons of Grace All Purpose Seasoning or other seasoning salts
- 4 cups of water (add more or less as needed)
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 18-24 grams matchstick carrots
- 1 Medium Onion
- 1 Large Green Pepper
- 10 sprigs of fresh thyme
Cook Time
- Approximately 15-25 min (total)
- 10-15 cook time on stove at high temp
- 5-10 cook time on stove at med-low temp
PREPARATION PROCESS
- Wash shrimp with lemon juice
- Peel and devein shrimp
- Cut and peel onion
- Cut onion into diagonal slivers
- Cut green pepper into slim wedges
Process
- Bring water to boil at high temp
- Add Uncle Goodie’s BBQ Jerk Sauce
- Stir occasionally for about 5 minutes
- Add Grace All Purpose Seasoning or other seasoning salt to boil
- Add olive oil and fresh thyme to boil
- Stir occasionally for another 5 minutes (bring gravy down to a thicker bowl)
- Add sliced onions
- Stir occasionally for another 2 minutes
- Reduce heat from high to med-low
- Add both sliced green pepper and shrimp
- Stir occasionally for another 2 minutes
- Turn stove temp to “OFF” and let sit covered for 5 minutes
